HELP IS ALWAYS
FURTHER THAN YOU THINK.
Think about how long it really takes for help to show up.
In a city, on a good day, the average ambulance takes around seven minutes.
Out in the country, it can be twenty, thirty, sometimes more. And that's if the roads are clear and a crew is free.
Seven minutes doesn't sound like much when you're reading this on the couch.
It's an eternity when someone's bleeding on the ground in front of you.
Now picture it for real.
Someone you love with a deep cut, a bad burn, or a limb that won't stop bleeding.
And you standing there for all of those minutes with nothing in your hands to help. Just a dish towel and a phone on speaker.
That's the gap nobody likes to think about. The minutes between when it happens and when help shows up. The minutes that are entirely on you.
Because here's the truth every paramedic knows.
A wound that's minor with quick care can turn serious, or worse, if it's left alone for twenty minutes. Bleeding. Infection. Shock.
What you do, or can't do, in those first few minutes decides most of it.
